DUA Umpires Work 2008 State Tournament Games

Twenty-five DUA umpires officiated games during the Delaware high school baseball and softball tournaments this year. David Blades, Tony DeFazio and Mike Luongo umpired the softball state championship game, played at Polytech High School. Duane Hammond, Rick Moore and Ron Amadio worked a softball semi-final game at the Pyle Center. Sam Williams, Greg Elkins and Tom Disharoon were the umpires at a baseball semi-final game played at Frawley Stadium. Next year, DUA umpires will officiate the baseball championship game and one softball semi-final game. Other DUA umpires who saw action during the state tournament games were Rob Kern, Horace Ellingsworth, Don Layfield, John O’Bier, Steve White, Jim Powell, Richard Parkinson, Richard Shockley, Wayne Voshell, Major Arnett, Bill Bell, Bill Thomas, Jon Beck, Al Hamilton, Lew Friday and Rick Sherwood. Congratulations to all our umpires for a fine season and great work in the state tournaments
